Heather Lemmons, Paralegal

I was born in Tampa, Florida, along with both my brothers. I spent half my childhood in Georgia, after moving to Atlanta when I was still quite young. I have lived in Reno since I was 11 years old where I attended Clayton Middle School, McQueen High School and TMCC.

My career as a paralegal began purely by chance. I got a call from a family friend one day asking if I’d like to work for a family law attorney, and once I began, that was it - I’ve never given thought to a different career and never will! Working at Marilyn D. York, Inc., has been extremely rewarding. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with or a better cause to be a part of.

My parents have a loving marriage of 28 years. I greatly appreciate my relationship with them and want the same for my child. I am the single mother of a wonderful little boy. Being a single mom makes me value the knowledge that I’ve gained of family law and the process of going through a family crisis. It has also helped me gain insight as to what our clients see and feel every day and why they need us. My own relationship with my child is wonderful. I believe that every parent should have the chance to have the same loving relationship with their children and I’m glad to assist our clients in getting that chance, despite what ever legal battles they are fighting.
