I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. My father is an attorney and we were thick as thieves growing up. I remember the first time that I knew I wanted to be in law. My dad was invited to be a guest speaker in my second grade class. He came in and served my teachers with a complaint effectively suing them for not giving us enough recess and snacks. The entire class cheered when my dad explained the concept of damages for pain and suffering. I was hooked. My dad got me a legal computer game called “Objection” and I played it daily. I wanted to be an attorney or an author when I grew up. I started working as a receptionist when I was seventeen for a lawyer named Bob Perry, who’s now a judge. Within a few months, I was promoted and became his paralegal. Bob was a plaintiff’s litigator and I became fascinated by the complexity of the cases coupled with the theatrics of trial. I eventually ended up working for Marilyn when a mutual friend introduced us. We became friends quickly and I worked for Marilyn until I moved to Las Vegas. I switched careers and went into real estate, but always missed law. I did a lot of traveling and lived in some amazing places (Napa, San Diego, Las Vegas, Cabo San Lucas), but I came back to Reno because I wanted to be closer to my family and friends. Marilyn hired me again and I feel incredibly fortunate to work for someone that I respect professionally and personally. I believe passionately in men’s rights. I can’t imagine what my life would be like now if I had been disconnected from my father when I was a child. I work fiercely to make sure that our clients have the best representation possible and I’m confident that we provide a few laughs along the way. |
