I'd much rather write about oompa loompas or hungry carnival monsters than about myself. But I know that when my kid writes a book report, she needs biographical information, so here it goes... I was born in 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in San Jose, California. It was a great place to grow up. I’ve met so many great life long friends there. I moved from San Jose to Reno when I was 22 with my parents. I've never been married but I do have a little girl and a dog named Winston. I had a beta fish who lived for nearly 7 years and grew to monstrous proportions. That fish just wouldn’t die until I moved from one house to another in the middle of winter. I left him in the garage and froze him. Oops! I graduated highschool in 1995 then after going to college in Oregon, I moved back home with Mom and Dad. What a great place, no rent to pay and food on the table every night - better than trying to survive on tree bark and rainwater. However, after considering how living with my parents effected my social life, I started to look for a job. I worked in my first law office at that time as a Legal Assistant. Two years later, I was offered a job as an Office Manager for a dental office doing collections. I got to meet more people without teeth than I ever thought I would. I spent many years with toothless people and helping them with there problems. A dental office is such a stressful place! Someone once said to me, do you realize that you go to the dentist everyday? That led me to Marilyn D. York’s office. I truly fell into my position purely by chance. Knowing someone who knew someone is how it works around Reno! At the time I was looking for a job and was so ready to get out of the dental field. That is when I was introduced to Marilyn D. York and her staff. What a great office and what a great place to work. I finally for once in my life feel like I have found a home and where I belong and where there is room for advancement. I feel passionate about who she represents. I've never known of a law firm that solely protects father's and men's rights. It's different, wonderful and somewhat hits close to home. I come from a divorced family myself and it’s a difficult process, but it is extremely important to remember that children need their parents. Since Marilyn always looks out for the children it is easy for me to be 100% on board. I am very lucky that I work with such wonderful girls. I have learned so much from them and am learning every day. I love my job, there is never a dull moment and I get challenged everyday. I am very proud to be a part of this team and to be a part of the everyday successes in helping people so that they may soon heal and resume a happier life. |
