It’s hard to answer the question, “where are you from.” I was born in Seattle, WA but moved to Baltimore, MD when I was a baby. When I was 12, my family and I moved to Sioux Falls, SD where I graduated from high school. I attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated with honors in 2004 with a degree in Criminal Justice. I also completed the Paralegal Studies Program at UNR where I was first in my class. I met my husband in 2003 and we were married in 2008. He was recruited to work as a nurse at Renown Regional Medical Center and we moved to Reno in 2006. I began working as a paralegal upon arriving in Reno doing insurance defense work. I worked at Ranalli & Zaniel for five years when Attorney Andriea Aden called to let me know that there was an opening at Marilyn’s office for a paralegal. Andriea and I went to high school together in South Dakota. When she moved to Reno, I was already here and gave her some furniture. That is the way of Reno I have learned. The work at Marilyn’s office is important and very rewarding. From growing up in a stable and loving household with two parents, I can understand the value of making sure all children have the love and support of both parents. My father is also the reason that I became interested in the legal field. He has worked for the Federal Court System for my whole life. Take Your Daughter To Work Day was often spent playing in the court rooms or having my mug shot taken. I am excited to be working for a firm that supports father’s rights as my father has been very influential in my life. |
